Description

Purity can be thought of in two main ways. The first is connected with morality and ethics; the state of keeping oneself pure in mind and body. The moral core of an individual is the extent to which that person will apply his notions of morality. It is centred on the individual but can be extended to include other people or groups. The individual sees these others within the moral core as deserving to be treated in the same way as the individual personally wants to be treated.
The other meaning is connected with cleanliness, i.e. the absence of dirt, including dust, stains, bad smells and clutter. Purposes of cleanliness include health, beauty, absence of offensive odour, avoidance of shame, and to avoid the spreading of dirt and contaminants to oneself and others. “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” is a well known term.
Purity is often sought in our surroundings. The cleanliness of white linen sheets, the first fresh dew of the morning, the innocence of a new born child, the untouched sand where the sea has washed, the beauty of a perfect rosebud all reach out and touch our souls. Aromatherapy seeks to link the mind and body by reaching out to our senses. The essential oils used in this blend each contribute their own unique properties. Lavender is reputed to stimulate the growth of new cells and to rejuvenate. Birch, as well as having a smoky woody scent, is reputed to help eliminate toxins and purify the system. One of the most important uses for Juniper is considered to be in the area of detoxification and it was used for centuries as both a scent to ward off infection and as a tonic. The addition of Ylang Ylang which, as well as having a wonderful perfume, is also known for relaxing tensions, angers and fears completes this Purity blend which we hope will help to purify both mind and body. Regent House makes no medicinal claims for this blend of oil and it is important to read the warning before use. This product can be used diluted as massage oil, neat in the bath or to burn in an oil burner.

Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses volatile liquid plant material, known as essential oils and other scented compounds from plants for the purpose of affecting a person's mood or health. Aromatherapy is a generic term referring to any of the various traditions that make use of essential oils, sometimes in combination with other alternative medical practices and spiritual beliefs. It has a particularly Western currency and persuasion. Medical treatment involving aromatic scents may exist outside of the West, but may or may not be included in the term 'aromatherapy'.
