Origin: Verbena was introduced to Europe in the 18th century but a good deal of confusion exists around the naming of this oil. Certain authors give the Latin name for Lemongrass although they are totally different plants. True Verbena oil is obtained by steam distillation from the flowering stalks of the plant and is a lovely greeny-yellow colour
Sources: It is native to Chile and Peru and found semi-wild in the Mediterranean region as well as Kenya and China. The oil is mainly produced in France and North Africa
Digestive system: It is an excellent digestive stimulant useful in all kinds of digestive upsets and for congestion of the liver
Nervous System: Regular massage with Verbena can help to reduce stress levels and anxiety.Two drops in a bath with Lavender oil can also help with many sleep problems
N.B: Do not use more than this quantity of Verbena as it can cause skin problems when used in larger quantities Mixing Oils: It blends well with Lavender, Neroli, Palmarosa, Lemon and citrus oils
