Origin: This herb has been highly esteemed since medieval times and used to be called "all heal" It is grown on a perennial herb which stands about 1.5m tall with a hollow, erect stem and purplish-white flower and has a strong odour. There are over 150 species of valerian found in different parts of the world
Sources: It is native to Europe and parts of Asia but cultivated mainly in Belgium for its oil. However it can also be found in France, the Netherlands, Britain, Scandinavia, Hungary, China, Russia and former Yugoslavia
Nervous System: The main use for Valerian is to treat insomnia, nervous indigestion, migraine, restlessness and tension
Mixing oils: This oil blends well with Lavender, Patchouli, Pine, Cedarwood, Mandarin, Petitgrain and Rosemary
