Origin: Sage originated in the Mediterranean and is a herb of ancient repute. It was considered to be a sacred herb by the Romans as they considered it could save people from illness and even death and was believed to strengthen the senses and the memory. It is produced by a small evergreen shrub which grows about 80 cm high and has a mass of deep blue or violet flowers
Sources: Sage originates from the Mediterranean basin but is now cultivated widely in Albania, Greece, Italy, Turkey, France, China and the USA Genito-urinary system: It is considered to help with menstrual cycle problems and was widely used in the olden days to help with any problems with the reproductive system
Respiratory system: Sage is considered to be good for respiratory infections and can be used as a gargle or mouthwash when diluted in water.
Muscles and Joints: Sage has a very warming effect on the muscles and works well as a massage oil to relieve aching muscles.
