Origin: Ravensara is a tall forest tree native to Madagascar and the local people have used the bark, leaves and fruit as medicine since the early times. The French scientist Baume distilled an oil from the bark during the 18th century but it has only really come into aromatherapy use since the 1980s

Source: Ravensara is native to Madagascar and is also cultivated on the island of Reunion and in Mauritius.

Skin Care: It is a good oil for cold sores, shingles and genital herpes. For shingles combine it with Lavender and Chamomile

Respiratory System: Probably its best feature is its strong anti-viral properties which can help combat many viruses especially flu.It can also help with sinusitis, catarrh, bronchitis and whooping cough and makes a good expectorant when used in inhalation

Muscles & Joints: It is a muscle relaxant and good for muscular aches, pains and tension.

Nervous System: It is an oil which can be both mentally and physically stimulating and could be good for helping people who are overtired, depressed and lethargic.

Mixing Oils: It blends well with Lavender, Pine, Thyme and Chamomile. Please note this oil works best when blended with other oils
