Geranium is said to be an adrenal cortex stimulant which helps to balance the hormones and therefore can be of assistance in menopausal problems. Bergamot has been described by aromatherapists as one of the most uplifting oils, so at a time when many women can feel depressed or irritable this oil is said to lift the spirits whilst still being a relaxing oil. Nutmeg is reputed to be useful for menstrual cramps and has warming properties which can be comforting during this period.
