Origin: This oil belongs to the same family as Teatree and is derived from an evergreen tree with a flexible trunk. The leaves have a strong aromatic scent when they are crushed. Occasionally you may find this oil sold under the name Gomenol Sources: Originally this oil came from the French East Indies but the majority of the oil used today comes from Australia and Tasmania
Skin Care: It is an excellent oil to treat skin conditions such as acne, boils, burns, cuts, insect bites, oily skin, spots and ulcers. Because it is non-irritant and powerfully antiseptic it can even be used for treating minor wounds where they are infected with dirt. The best way to use it is to mix 6 drops with boiled and cooled ware and wash out repeatedly
Respiratory System: It is good for asthma, bronchitis, coughs, sinusitis, sore throat and catarrh. It can be used in chest rubs although as it is a stimulant it is best not to use it just before sleep as it can cause insomnia
Genito-urinary System: With its antiseptic qualities it is good for cystitis and urinary infections
Mixing Oils: It blends well with Lavender, Rosemary, Pine, Marjoram and the spice oils such as Nutmeg and Clove
