The essential oils chosen for these chesty cough products contain four essential oils. Lavender is reputed to have a sedative action on the cough and respiratory tract as well as having antibacterial qualities. It can be helpful as a decongestant. Benzoin is soothing and warming and can be helpful in clearing mucus. Frankincense is reputed to be especially active with regards to the lungs and can calm coughs. It can help to slow and deepen the breathing as well as being helpful with catarrh whilst Thyme is an excellent expectorant and has been used for centuries to help heal respiratory conditions.
