Eucalyptus is probably best known for its association with clearing stuffy noses and helping breathing. It is said to have powerful bactericidal and anti viral actions. Tea Tree is said to be popular for its ability to fight infections and as such can be valuable in the bodys fight against colds or flu. It is reputed to help the body to sweat and by this process to help it to fight against the development of infections. Peppermint is said to help colds and flu because of its warming and stimulating properties which can be especially valuable at the onset of a cold to combat the chills often felt. Orange is added because of its delicate aroma as well as the fact that many people succumb to colds and flu during the winter time and maybe this oil carries with it some of the sunshine which helps to lift the spirits! The addition of Geranium is for its reputed antiseptic properties as well as its sweet smell.
