Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in people over the age of 55. There are many different forms of arthritis, each of which has a different cause. The most common form of arthritis, osteoarthritis is also known as degenerative joint disease and occurs following infection of the joint or simply as a result of ageing.
Aromatherapy and essential oils have been found to help relieve the symptoms and whilst they do not claim to cure it they can help the sufferer. In this arthritis blend several essential oils have been chosen for their contribution to relieving pain in the joints.
Lavender oil is used for many purposes but one of its most important is in relation to muscular pain whatever the cause. It is said to reduce pain locally as well as reducing inflammation and is best when mixed with other oils for this purpose.
Peppermint is added to this blend of oil, which can also help to kill pain but whereas Lavender is more of a sedative the Peppermint is a stimulant. This combination is frequently found in many commercial pain killing preparations.
Eucalyptus has warming properties and can assist in relieving pain in muscular joints. However it has a very strong scent and as such people who do not like its powerful odour could use the alternative Arthritis 2 blend.
The manufacturer makes no medical or healing claims for this blend of cream. Always read the warning before use.
"Your 'Arthritis Ease 1' - massage cream, is the only thing that brings me any relief. My gardener used to get it for me, but he isn't around any longer. Where can I buy any from? My little tub is almost empty and I treat it like gold dust. Help!!!! I live in Ilford Essex. "
