Dry Skin
Dry skin is lacking in moisture as the sebaceous glands are inactive and not producing enough sebum. Dry skin is unfortunately prone to more wrinkles than other skin types and needs to be fed daily with nourishing and protective oils. In some commercial preparations they concentrate on adding lubricating oils externally whilst aromatherapy treatments tend to combine carrier oils such as sweet almond, evening primrose and jojoba with essential oils which can help the sebaceous glands to function more effectively.
Essential oils for dry skin: Benzoin, Chamomile Roman, Chamomile German, Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Neroli, Palmarosa, Rose, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Vetivert, Ylang Ylang.
