Relaxation therapies can often help the sufferer to relax, getting the body to get into a state where it can truly rest. Massages and baths using a variety of essential oils can be very beneficial and help restore vigour and liveliness. The benefit of many oils is that they can be stimulating without having any of the dangers which are associated with other types of stimulants.
Try including essential oils in your bath
If your body is feeling really tired and weary try having a bath using Basil, Rosemary and Pine essential oils. Just place a few drops into the water and soak for at least 20 minutes.
Alternatively, another blend which can help to give renewed energy is Marjoram, Nutmeg and Geranium. Only use 3 drops of Nutmeg and 6-8 drops of each of the other oils in a bath.
Get enough rest
It is vital to ensure you are getting enough rest and quality sleep and we recommend that you start the relaxation process two hours before you actually go to sleep. Here are a few suggestions to help:
Buy an oil burner and place a few drops of Lavender combined with Benzoin or Chamomile in it and place in the room where you are. Then run a warm bath and soak in it using a few drops of any of these oils.
Alternatively, our Sleep CD gift set is highly recommended. Not only does it makes a wonderful gift, this pack can also be used to great effect by someone suffering from exhaustion. The pack aids quality sleep as it contains the perfect selection of items designed to soothe 4 of your senses:
Wake up revitalised
One good tip is when you wake to wash your face in water with a few drops of any citrus essential oil such as Grapefruit, Orange, Mandarin, Tangerine, Lemon or Lime or a combination of any of these. Avoid the eye area but wash the rest of your skin briskly using a flannel or cotton wool soaked in these oils with water.
Emotional or Nervous Exhaustion
If you are suffering from emotional or nervous exhaustion then try the oils of Eucalyptus and Juniper. These oils can be used to good effect in a burner, humidifier or a bath.
If you are suffering from anxiety which is causing exhaustion and this is having an impact on your sexual life then try using Clary Sage in a massage as this oil is relaxing, has tonic properties and is also an aphrodisiac. It can also promote drowsiness so it is important to use it near to bed time.
Any of the following oils have tonic properties so why not experiment for yourself and see which ones are most beneficial for you. The list includes Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Clove, Geranium, Ginger, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram, Myrrh, Nutmeg and Rosemary. Always remember when using essential oils that if you like the smell of them they are likely to work better for you. Massage is the best way to use these oils if you can find someone to give you one but you can also try a combination of any of the oils in a bath or burner.
