After Christmas as Spring approaches and we are losing weight our skin can become flabby and with a few sags here and there we often want to try and firm up the tummy, buttocks and legs – there is no miracle cure for this but several essential oils may help to firm and tone the skin.  Some of the best for this are Rose, Clary Sage, Chamomile, Neroli, Orange, Grapefruit and Geranium.

You can either use the oils separately diluted in carrier oil or mix some of the together. If you have oily skin choose Grapeseed carrier oil as a base but if your skin is dry then try a nourishing oil such as Aloe Vera or Sweet Almond. (Do not use Almond if you have a nut allergy)

Apply the oil in the evening, before bed as this serves two purposes. First, the bedding warms the body and helps the oils penetrate better. Second, the body repairs during sleep and will get the most benefit from therapeutic treatments. Apply the oil to clean skin and, if necessary, wash the area beforehand with a mild exfoliating scrub. Apply the oil in a circular motion.
