Smells and Dreams

Is there any correlation between what we smell and what we dream?

Tests were carried out in Germany on three women. Whilst they slept each of them had something to smell placed under their noses. One of them was given a lovely scent of roses, the second woman was given the scent of rotten eggs and the third one a neutral scent. Each was then woken and asked to tell about what they had dreamt. Each woman´s dream corresponded with the scent — the one given the rose smell had pleasant dreams and the one with the rotten eggs reported that she had experienced unpleasant dreams.
