Category: Essential Oils
From April 2011 there was going to be ban on all alternative medicines which included Chinese herbs, ayurvedic herbs and western herbs. Many people rose up and objected to this as these medicines have been around for hundreds of years and the salient issue which began to dominate was that as individuals it should be our right to choose what type of medicines we want to administer to our own bodies. The issue here is not whether herbal medicines work but whether we should be allowed the freedom of choice. We are constantly told that the reason they want to ban herbal medicines is a safety issue.
Whose safety we ask? The safety of individuals who should be allowed to use products which have been in existence for hundreds of years with much data available to back this up if the EU officials would care to look into it or the safety of the pharmaceutical companies who want to ensure their profit margins only keep going up!! Small companies and individual practitioners will be unable to afford to test and therefore the only companies who can afford this are the big pharmaceutical companies. We invite you to join in this discussion and give us your view point!
