Normal Skin Care

You are fortunate if you have evenly balanced skin which is smooth fine-pored, soft and supple with no spots and blemishes. Although normal skin needs no special extensive care it needs to be looked after properly.

Wash normal skin with a mild PH balanced soap daily in warm water and apply a face mask once a week. Below are some recipes:

RECIPE 1: Lavender Cleansing Cream
4 drops Lavender Essential Oil, 7gm Beeswax, 60ml Sunflower Oil, 30ml Orange Flower Water. Put the beeswax and carrier oil into a heat resistant bowl. Stir over a pan of boiling water until the mixture melts. Remove the bowl from the pan and slowly add the water to the mixture stirring constantly. Keep stirring until the cream begins to cool and then add the essential oil. Stir until the mixture thickens then transfer into sterilized jars.

RECIPE 2: Normal Skin Facial Oil
4 drops Geranium Essential Oil, 3 drops Rose Essential Oil, 3 drops Rosewood Essential Oil, 10ml Jojoba Carrier Oil.

RECIPE 3: Normal Skin Facial Oil
30ml Evening Primrose Carrier Oil, 3 drops Frankincense Essential Oil, 3 drops Lavender Essential Oil, 4 drops Palmarosa Essential Oil.

RECIPE 4: Normal Skin Moisturizing Cream
4 drops Chamomile Roman Essential Oil, 4 drops Geranium Essential Oil, 4 drops Neroli Essential Oil, 30ml Thick Cream Base.

RECIPE 5: Normal Skin Face Mask
2 tablespoons of clay/fuller´s earth, 1 teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon Jojoba Carrier Oil, 1 drop Rose Essential Oil, 1 drop Geranium Essential Oil. Mix the above ingredients to a thick paste and apply to the face. Avoid the eye area. Relax and leave this mask on until it has dried then gently wash off with warm water.

RECIPE 6: Honey Water
2 drops Bergamot Essential Oil, 1 drop Benzoin Essential Oil, 1 drop Sandalwood Essential Oil, 1 drop Lavender Essential Oil, 10ml Vodka, ¼ tsp honey, 80ml orange flower water. Mix the vodka, honey and oils and pour into a small sterilized bottle. Allow to stand for 10 days shaking regularly. Dilute with water and store in a larger bottle.

RECIPE 7: Aromatic Vinegar for toning the face
3 drops Rosemary Essential Oil, 2 drops Rose Essential Oil, 1 drop Lavender Essential Oil, 10ml wine or cider vinegar, 80ml distilled water. Pour the alcohol through a funnel into a small sterilized dark bottle and add the essential oil. Allow to stand for a week shaking daily. Pour the toner through filter paper and dilute with distilled water. Store in a larger dark bottle.

Sandalwood Essential Oil- Amyris Balsamifera (10ml)

Sandalwood is one of the best essential oils to use in the treatment of chronic bronchitis. It is a good oil to use for oily skins and acne and is often liked by teenage boys as it has a masculine scent as well as helping to sooth itches and rashes.
