Description
Bodysoaks are made using pure essential oils with foam bath and natural salt.  Shake the bottle well and tip about one third into running water then soak your body for at least fifteen minutes for maximum benefit.
Arthritis (from the Greek arthro meaning joint + itis meaning inflammation) is a group of conditions where there is damage caused to the joints of the body. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in people over the age of 55.
There are many different forms of arthritis, each of which has a different cause. Rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis are autoimmune diseases in which the body is attacking itself. Septic arthritis is caused by joint infection. Gouty arthritis is caused by deposition of uric acid crystals in the joint that results in subsequent inflammation. Additionally, there is a less common form of gout that is caused by the formation of rhomboidal shaped crystals of calcium pyrophosphate. This form of gout is known as pseudo gout. The most common form of arthritis, osteoarthritis is also known as degenerative joint disease and occurs following infection of the joint or simply as a result of ageing. There is emerging evidence that abnormal anatomy may contribute to early development of osteoarthritis. Treatment options vary depending on the type of arthritis and include physical and occupational therapy and medications. Aromatherapy and essential oils have been said to help relieve the symptoms.

Lavender oil is used for many purposes but one of it’s most important is in relation to muscular pain whatever the cause. It is said to reduce pain locally as well as reducing inflammation and is best when mixed with other oils for this purpose. Peppermint is added to this blend, which can also help to kill pain but whereas Lavender is more of a sedative the Peppermint is a stimulant. This combination is frequently found in many commercial pain killing preparations. Eucalyptus has warming properties and can assist in relieving pain in muscular joints. However it has a very strong scent and as such people who do not like its powerful odour could use the alternative Arthritis 2 blend.
The manufacturers makes no medicinal claims for this bodysoak and it is important to read the warning before use.
